Nicholas Poorans Fiery Knock Sets Up Win

West Indies Thrash Afghanistan by 104 Runs in T20 World Cup Group C

Nicholas Pooran's Fiery Knock Sets Up Win

McCoy's Spell Completes Dominant Performance

Nicholas Pooran's blistering 98 off just 53 balls powered West Indies to a commanding 218 for 5 in their final Group C match of the T20 World Cup against Afghanistan at Gros Islet. Facing an improbable target of 323 to win, Afghanistan's chase was extinguished at 108 for 9 in 16 overs.

Pooran's innings, which included eight sixes and seven fours, propelled the West Indies to a match-winning total. Obed McCoy's spell of 3 for 14 then sealed the victory, with Afghanistan's only resistance coming in the form of a 24-ball 46 from Ibrahim Zadran.

The win gives West Indies a boost ahead of the Super 12 stage of the tournament, while Afghanistan's T20 World Cup campaign ends with a disappointing defeat.
